Sunshine, Slabs and Success!

 

Hello and welcome back to our blog! We apologise for going a little quiet on you but promise that we have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes and have lots of exciting news and progress to share with you!

Summer and the sunshine are finally here and the start of the new season has given us plenty to smile about and share with you. So feel free to grab a cuppa and maybe a cheeky biscuit or two and take five with us….

The 7th of June marked the beginning of our fabulous new refurbishment project of 152 Harley Street, London’s Premier Day Clinic. The clinic needed a little TLC and we are thrilled to have secured this exciting opportunity to transform both the 3rd and 5th floor. The project includes a complete change of layout, high spec finishes, beautiful joinery and very snazzy integrated LED lighting throughout.

Our Colindale site consisting of 18, 1, 2 and 3 bed flats is well underway and drum roll please…

We have now….

  • Completed all the concrete floor slabs from the ground to the fourth floor!

  • Completed all but the fourth floor internal partitions…75%! Result!

  • Received just under half of our bricks to site and we are raring to get this stage underway to complete the shell!

  • Began undertaking the first fix plumbing and electrics throughout the building…Let there be light!

  • Agreed and finalised all plans and works for the sprinkler system…Safety first!

Saving one of my personal favourites for last is our Sherwood Road project which commenced in February 2020! We are very excited to share the progress and final result of this beautiful new build 5 bedroom dream home. It’s still early days mind you but we are moving in leaps and bounds with the successful completion of the basement construction and are now working our way up (pardon the pun) with the completion of the ground floor beams and blocks.

Inevitably with lots of highs comes its lows and the strains of Covid-19 and Brexit have had an unprecedented and direct impact on the construction industry. We are now not only being faced with significant price increases for key materials including steel, insulation and timber but also shortages resulting in extended lead teams.

How do we plan to overcome this challenge and still deliver you may be wondering? The solutions are simple…

  • Get more quotes in!

We will continue to source multiple quotes to ensure the best price is achieved without compromising quality and our high spec finish.

  • Budget, budget, budget!

They say money can’t buy you happiness but if you use it wisely it can certainly be highly advantageous. This is a crucial process that we carefully set out from the start and continue to monitor and manage to the very end of the build.

  • Failing to plan is planning to fail!

We will continue to meticulously plan with realistic timelines, to efficiently manage any extended lead times we face as to avoid panic purchasing.

  • Best policy? Honesty! 

Communication and transparency are key to our work ethic and we will ensure that we are open and honest with our clients about any unforeseen delays and work actively to provide solutions.

  • Get it right the first time!

Rest assured we do not cut corners or ever compromise on quality and will continue to ensure that we source the best materials and products for high quality and beautiful new builds.
